Hydrogen peroxide  is a powerful, eco-friendly oxidizing agent used in drinking water, well water, and wastewater treatment to kill pathogens, oxidize minerals, and break down persistent pollutants.

       Oxidation and Disinfection: It inactivates bacteria, viruses, and fungi by releasing oxygen.

       Precipitation of Metals: It oxidizes dissolved iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide into solid particles that can be trapped and removed by filters.

       Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs): Combined with UV light, ozone, or iron salts (Fenton's reagent), creates highly reactive hydroxyl radicals that destroy complex organic pollutants like pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and microplastics.

       Decomposition: Unlike chlorine, it leaves behind no harmful disinfection byproducts (such as trihalomethanes); it breaks down completely into water and oxygen.
